And the western West Indies. This species also breeds in the remaining West Indies, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Australasian region, and the Hawaiian Islands (O‘ahu, Kaua‘i, and Moloka‘i). Scattered individuals winter in eastern North America north to southern Canada. See text for details.
