Distribution of the Ruddy Turnstone in North and Middle America and the western Caribbean. This species also winters in the eastern Caribbean and in South America, and very locally along the Pacific Coast from northern California north to Washington. The northeast high-arctic populations (race interpres: Devon, Axel Heiberg, Ellesmere Is., Greenland) winter in western Europe. The species also breeds in Europe and Asia. See text for details.
