Breeding

Introduction

There is very little information on the reproductive biology of Ancash Tapaculo. Eggs and nestlings are reported from February (Fjeldså and Krabbe 1990). Two nests were typical of the genus, globular with a side entrance, and composted mostly of grass and moss; these nests were hidden in grass tussocks (Krabbe and Schulenberg 2003). The clutch is two (Krabbe and Schulenberg 2003).
