Vocalizations
The song of Ancash Tapaculo is a composed of a descending churr note, at 3.3-4 kHz, that is repeated for 30 s or more, at a pace of 2.2-2.6 notes per second (Krabbe and Schulenberg 2003).

A scold call of Ancash Tapaculo is a dry, long churr (0.6-0.8 s in length), given at irregular intervals of 5-20 seconds (Krabbe and Schulenberg 2003).
