Andean Tinamou has a very large geographic range. This tinamou usually is fairly common to common, and the population appears to be stable. The IUCN Red List status for Andean Tinamou is assessed as Least Concern (BirdLife International 2014).

Effects of human activity on populations

No threats to Andean Tinamou are identified (BirdLife International 2014), although presumably it is subjected to some pressure from hunting.
