Introduction

As with many common, widespread species, there is currently no information available regarding population dynamics of Bare-faced Ibis.

Due to the strong association of P. infuscatus with wetlands more studies examining the sensitivity of these birds to alteration of wetlands and associated landscapes are needed.

Phylogenetic studies about the family Theskiornitidae do not include actual genetic data on this particular species.
