Related Species

Phylogenetic analysis of DNA sequence data, from both mitochondrial and nuclear genes, indicate that Bolborhynchus (represented by Bolborhynchus lineola) is sister to Nannopsittaca, and that the Bolborhynchus/Nannopsittaca clade is basal to the New World parrot radiation (Tavares et al. 2006, Schirtzinger et al. 2012).
