Diet and Foraging

Diet

Feeds mainly on small arthropods, especially insects (both adult and larvae) and a few spiders. Most of its prey are small, which are usually swallowed whole. It also consumes fruit but in smaller quantities. It can forage at a variety of substrates, from bare ground, to mossy forest floor, epiphyte covered tree branches, even well up in canopy (ca. 25 m). Sometimes tosses fallen leaves and other vegetation to look for hidden prey. Often forages in open areas as forest trails, especially during the warmer hours of the day, when there is more insect movement.
