Priorities for Future Research
Introduction
The information base of this species could greatly benefit from observational data; therefore, it will be important to make note of any interspecific and intraspecific interactions of Black-capped Pygmy Tyrant. Specifically, research should be conducted to look at the breeding behavior, foraging times, territorial behavior, and territory size. While much information can be gathered from observation, we can also learn more my doing playback experiments to map territories and glean finer details on habitat preference.
In addition, information on Black-capped Pygmy Tyrant mating system should be a focus.
Accounts of intraspecific interactions are also needed for Black-capped Pygmy Tyrant. Observations can be made, specifically looking at predation or species-dominance relationships in Black-capped Pygmy Tyrant.
