Berlepsch's Tinamou has a large geographic range, and although the population is believed to be in decline, its IUCN Red List conservation status is assessed as Least Concern (BirdLife International 2014).

As with other forest-inhabiting species, deforestation is the main threat to Berlepsch's Tinamou (BirdLife International 2014).
