Sounds and Vocal Behavior

Vocalizations

The song of Buff-fronted Quail-Dove is described as "a low, hollow hoOOOO", louder towards the end and with a slightly rising inflection (Stiles and Skutch 1989). The song often is repeated regularly and rapidly, at intervals of one second, for protacted periods (J. Guarnaccia, in Ridgely and Gwynne 1989).
