Priorities for Future Research

Introduction

Several details relating to life history and demography of Brown Jay are lacking. What are the mechanisms, for example, underlying variability in mating behavior in Brown Jays? Why do some groups have multiple breeding females while other groups have a single breeding female? In addition, while the clade to which Brown Jays belong seems to be resolved, the precise phylogenetic placement of Brown Jays within this clade is still unknown.
