Diet and Foraging

Diet

Bronze-tailed Comet is primarily nectarivorous, but the diet of this species is not well documented; it has been reported visiting flowering mistletoes (Phrygilanthus) (Fjeldså and Krabbe 1990).

Bronze-tailed Comet also consumes small arthropods (Sclater 1883, personal observations TSS), as do most if not all species of hummingbirds (Remsen et al. 1986).
