Conservation Status
Brushland Tinamou has a broad geographic distribution, is considered to be fairly common, and so is not considered to be threatened (BirdLife International 2012). Its IUCN Red List conservation status is Least Concern (Birdlife International 2012).
Effects of human activity on populations
Brushland Tinamou is hunted, and is Lancaster (1964) observed that this species was noticeably more common at sites where hunting was prohibited. Habitat loss or degradation through agricultural development also poses a potential threat to Brushland Tinamou (BirdLife International 2012).
