Conservation Status
Given that Capuchinbird has a large distribution and an apparently stable population trend, this species is considered by Birdlife International (2012) as of Least Concern. While the population has not been quantified, Capuchinbird doesn't appear to approach any thresholds for Vulnerable under the population size criterion (Birdlife International 2012).
Effects of human activity on populations
Thiollay (1992) noted that Capuchinbirds in Guyana suffered declines where selective logging had been carried out. Effects of human activity in other parts of its range have not been studied, but it assumed given its particular habitat preference that any sort of human activity within its range would result in commensurate declines in the population.
