Arlen Papazian
Version: 1.0 — Published January 30, 2015

Behavior

Introduction

The behavior of Cayenne Nightjar is undescribed. Its behavior presumably is similar to that of other small nightjars, in which case it may be asssumed that Cayenne Nightjar is crespuscular and nocturnal, and that it captures insects in flight, probably with sallies from the ground.

Territoriality

There are no published data on territorial defense, maintenance, or home range size for Cayenne Nightjar.

Sexual Behavior

Undescribed; presumably is at least socially monogamous.

Social and interspecific behavior

Undescribed; Cayenne Nightjar presumably is solitary or in pairs, as is typical of nightjars.

Predation

There are no reports of predation on Cayenne Nightjar.
