Introduction
Cayenne Nightjar is one of the least known and most mysterious birds in the Neotropics; the rediscovery of a living Cayenne Nightjar would be one of the greatest prizes in tropical field ornithology. Documentation of its vocalizations and habitat would be key to surveys to document its geographic range and population status (Tobias et al. 2006). Additionally, there is no information on the diet or reproductive biology of Cayenne Nightjar, nor are there data on population density or population trends, life span and survivorship, dispersal, population regulation, molts, territoriality, and sexual behavior for Cayenne Nightjar.
