Introduction
Somewhat surprisingly, for such an attractive species that remains locally fairly common near major cities in the Andes, the natural history of Chestnut-breasted Mountain-Finch remains almost completely unknown. The diet and reproductive biology of this species both are completly undescribed. Also worthy of study are demographic aspects of the biology of Chestnut-breasted Mountain-Finch, such as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, population regulation, territoriality and population density.
