Conservation
Conservation Status
The conservation status of the Chilean Swallow is rated as Least Concern (BirdLife International 2009). Although the population size and population trends of the Chilean Swallow are not known, this species has a wide distribution. It also is generally common; Jaramillo (2003), for example, describes this the "most common" species of swallow in Chile.
Effects of human activity on populations
Occurs in towns and villages, so it coexists with humans successfully (Turner and Rose 1989).
