Priorities for Future Research
Introduction
Ecological studies on Chilean Tinamou are priorities because it is an endemic bird to Chile. More quantitative data would be useful to assess the effects of hunting and trapping on this species. Also worthy of investigation would be the question of whether competition with the introduced California Quail (Callipepla californica) has an effect on populations of the native tinamou. There still is little or no information for Chilean Tinamou on topics such as territoriality, density, lifespan, and population regulation, all of which are excellent topics for further research.
