Behavior

Introduction

There is little information on Coppery-chested Jacamar, but its behavior generally is similar to that of other species of Galbula. Coppery-chested Jacamars forage in the under and midstory, perching in a semi open site, often with the long bill angled slightly upward, and sallying to air to catch insects in flight (Whitney in Collar et al. 1992, Ridgely and Greenfield 2001b).
