Priorities for Future Research

Introduction

Collared Aracari is common and conspicuous bird, but many aspects of its natural history are incompletely known. There is almost no information, for example, on home range size or on population demography. Its social system also is poorly known, and it is not clear is cooperative breeding is frequent, or is atypical behavior. The taxonomic status of the taxa sanguineus and erythropygius also mertis further investigation.
