Darwin's Nothura Nothura darwinii

Vitor Gomes
Version: 1.0 — Published February 28, 2014

Conservation

Widespread and generally common, even in areas where natural habitats have been greatly modified through conversion to agriculture. Consequently the IUCN Red List conservation status for Darwin's Nothura is assessed as Least Concern (BirdLife International 2014).

Effects of human activity on populations

The range of Darwin's Nothura reportedly has expanded its range as a result of additional suitable habitat created through agricultural conversion; furthermore, considerable natural habitat still remains within the range of the species (Cabot 1992).
