Conservation Status
Dwarf Vireo is considered to have a very large geographic range, and it IUCN Red List conservation status is assessed as Least Concern (BirdLife International 2014). Nonetheless, the relative abundance of Dwarf Vireo usually is given as "very uncommon" (Binford 1989), or uncommon to fairly common but local (Howell and Webb 1995). In Mexico, populations are protected by law under the category of special protection (SEMARNAT 2010).
Effects of human activity on populations
No threats to Dwarf Vireo are identified by BirdLife International (2014). Habitat destruction or degradation may jeopardize the viability of populations of Dwarf Vireo.
