Introduction
There are very few data about abundance, population size and demographics of Tachyphonus cristatus. This data is crucial in understanding the ecological success of a species. Descriptions of this species habitat are rather broad and are in need of more specific analysis. A better understanding of the habitat would further the knowledge of geographic distribution. Other gaps discovered in researching the Flame-crested Tanager concerned molts, breeding behaviors and ages, territoriality and competition, and predation.
