Sounds and Vocal Behavior
Vocalizations
In Brazil, Sick (1985) described a complex series of notes, tseh tseh tesh tsititit, that may represent the song of the Flame-crested Tanager. Calls include a thin, high seeep note while foraging (Hilty and Brown 1986, Hilty 2003), which may be the same vocalization described by Lane (in Schulenberg et al. 2007) as "a high 'tswee' "; and "a dull 'unk' " (Lane, in Schulenberg et al. 2007).
