Golden-winged Tody-Flycatcher Poecilotriccus calopterus
Version: 1.0 — Published June 20, 2014
Distribution
Distribution in the Americas
Golden-winged Tody-Flycatcher is resident in northwestern Amazonia, in southeastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, and northern Peru. The few records from Colombia all from the base of the Andes, at 350-1450 m (Meyer de Schauensee 1950, Hilty and Brown 1986, Salaman et al. 1999). Most records in Ecuador and Peru also are from foothill regions, but in both countries this tody-flycatcher also occurs in the lowlands, with records as far southeast as along the lower Río Napo and near the Amazon (Zimmer 1940, Cardiff 1983, Ridgely and Greenfield 2001a, Schulenberg et al. 2010).
Distribution outside the Americas
Endemic to the Americas.
Habitat
Golden-winged Tody-Flycatcher occupies dense, low shrubby vegetation at the edge of humid evergreen forest, and adjacent overgrown gardens (with tangled growth 1-2 m tall) (Ridgely and Greenfield 2001a, Schulenberg et al. 2010, T.A. Parker, unpublished).
