Priorities for Future Research
Introduction
Golden-winged Tody-Flycatcher has a restricted geographic range and occupies dense vegetation, where it can be difficult to observe, at least for extended periods; it is no surprise, therefore, that its natural history remains poorly known. The diet is not known in any detail, and there is no information on its reproductive biology. There also are no quantitative data on population density or population trends, which is a serious lack in view of ongoing deforesation within its range. There also is no information for Golden-winged Tody-Flycatcher on such topics as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, population regulation, molts, territoriality, and sexual behavior.
