Conservation
Conservation Status
The population trend of Green-backed Sparrow is not quantified, but this species is believed to be in decline (BirdLife International 2014). In Mexico also is not considered to be a threatened species (SEMARNAT 2010).
Effects of human activity on populations
Green-backed Sparrow is suspected to be experiencing population declines due to habitat destruction (BirdLife Internatioal 2014).
