Diet and Foraging

Diet

Great Dusky Swift is insectivorous, but its diet is not known in much detail. The contents of the stomachs of three specimens from Brazil contained Coleoptera (Bruchiade, Carabidae, Chrysomelidae, Curculionidae, Nitidulidae, Staphylinidae, and Tenebrionidae), Diptera, Hemiptera, Homoptera, and Hymenoptera (Formicidae, Ichneumonoidea, and microhymenoptera) (Schubart et al. 1965).
