Distribution in the Americas
Green-striped Brush-Finch is endemic to Mexico. It is resident in montane areas of western and central Mexico, from southern Sinaloa south to Colima, and in the central transvolcanic best east to Puebla (Miller et al. 1957, Howell and Webb 1995).
The elevational range is 1800-3500 m (Howell and Webb 1995).
Distribution outside the Americas
Endemic to the Americas.
Habitat
Green-striped Brush-Finch occurs in humid and semihumid montane forest, pine-evergreen forest, and fir forest (Howell and Webb 1995, Parker et al. 1996).
