Behavior

Introduction

There is limited information on the behavior of Lesser Roadrunner. This species is primarily terrestrial, but perches in bushes or low trees (Howell and Webb 1995). Like Greater Roadrunner (Geococcyx californianus), this species often cocks the tail and droops the wings (Howell and Webb 1995).

Territoriality

There are no published data on territorial defense, maintenance, or fidelity, or of home range size, for Lesser Roadrunner.

Sexual Behavior

Little information; presumably is at least socially monogamous.

Social and interspecific behavior

Lesser Roadrunner usually is solitary or pairs.

Predation

No reports of predation on Lesser Roadrunner?
