Distribution
Distribution in the Americas
The Little Tinamou is resident from southeastern Mexico south through Central America to northwestern South America, in the Amazon and Orinoco basins, and in southeastern Brazil's Atlantic rainforest.
Distribution outside the Americas
Endemic to the Americas.
Habitat
Inhabits humid tropical and subtropical forests, preferring areas with dense scrub, young forests with secondary growth, in thickets and plantations. It is found from sea level to 1500 m.
