Introduction

Long-tailed Potoo has a wide distribution in South America, but many aspects of its natural history are still poorly known. There are only a handful of breeding reports in a few locales and there is very little information on breeding biology. The diet of this potoo is unknown in great detail as well. Rounding out the long list of topics with little or no information is age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, population regulation, molt, territoriality and population density, fossil record, sexual behavior, and responses to predators.
