Conservation

Lyre-tailed Nightjar has a very large geographic range. Its population size of Lyre-tailed Nightjar has not been estimated, but it is believed to be stable in the absence of any evidence of declines or major threats; consequently, the IUCN Red List status of Lyre-tailed Nightjar is evaluated as of Least Concern (BirdLife International 2014).

Effects of human activity on populations

This species is presumably susceptible to deforestation throughout its range, although at a global level this activity is not currently perceived as a threat.
