Demography and Populations

Introduction

In Huitepec Ecological Reserve, the abundance of Magnificent Hummingbird was recorded as 41 individuals from January to August, 2010. There was a correlation between their abundance and the phenology of Passiflora membranacea during June (Partida 2011). International Birdlife (2012) considers the population size is extremely large (<10,000 mature individuals) and the population trend is one of increase.
