Moustached Antpitta Grallaria alleni

Priorities for Future Research

Introduction

Moustached Antpitta was almost unknown for much of the 20th century; most of the few localities at which it is known were discovered only since 1990. A major priority, then, would be to extensively survey additional areas where this species might occur, to better document its distribution, population density, and habitat requirements. Other priorities for research on Moustached Antpitta include territory or home range size, age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, and population regulation.
