Priorities for Future Research

Introduction

Oasis Hummingbird is uncommon, but is widespread, and occurs in easily accessible, relatively open habitats. Nonetheless its biology is very poorly known. There is little information available regarding the range of flowering plants visited by this species, and very little information on its reproductive biology, especially in the wild. Its molts deserve further study, as does the possibility that, at least locally, it undertakes seasonal altitudinal movements. There also is no information regarding demographic factors such as life span and survivorship, dispersal, or population regulation for Oasis Hummingbird.
