The maximum life span of Orange-breasted Falcon is estimated at 20 years (Berry et al. 2010). Breeding typically begins at age 2; the reproductive life is about 12 years for females, and 17 years for males (Berry et al. 2010).

Occupancy of known eyries in Belize declined from a mean rate of 83% in the 1990s (1992-1997) to only 54% in the period 2003-2009; during this period, fecundity (mean number of young fledged per pair) declined from 0.77 in the 1990s to 0.50 in the 2000s (Berry et al. 2010). Surveys in Guatemala found no evidence of declines in occupancy or fecundity (Berry et al. 2010).
