Introduction
There is very little information about the reproductive biology of Pale-browed Tinamou. Marchant (1960) reported a nest with eggs from southwestern Ecuador in May; otherwise eggs are reported from Ecuador from 26 November to 20 February (Pässler 1938). The nest itself is not described, but presumably is little more than a scrape on the ground; the siting of the one known nest was "on the ground at the foot of a large tree" (Marchant 1960). The only information on clutch size comes from this nest, which contained seven eggs. Marchant (1960) described the color of egg as a uniform pale grayish mauve; the one egg he measured has dimensions of 46.7 x 37.7 mm. The range of dimensions of eggs reported by Pässler (1938) were 38.5-45 mm x 29.0-34.5 mm (n = 40).
