Behavior

Spectacled Tyrannulet forages alone or in pairs, and may join foraging flocks. It is an active feeder while searching for fruit or insects, including both gleaning and sallying methods (Restall et al. 2006). Forages at all levels of the forest, but primarily in the middle and high canopy.

Spectacled Tyrannulet typically is encountered singly or in pairs. There are no published data on territorial defense, maintenance, or fidelity, or on home range size, for Spectacled Tyrannulet.

Undescribed; Spectacled Tyrannulet presumably is at least socially monogamous.

Spectacled Tyrannulet tends to be solitary except when nesting. May join mixed species foraging flocks (Hilty and Brown 1986, Hilty 2003).

No reports of predation on Spectacled Tyrannulet.
