Distribution in the Americas

Spectacled Tyrannulet is found from 1500-2400 m in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta of Colombia and the Serranía de Perijá of Colombia and Venezuela, and at slightly lower elevations from Norte de Santander in Colombia north to the Cordillera de Mérida in Venezeula. No seasonal movements have been described.

Distribution outside the Americas

Endemic to the Americas.

Habitat

Spectacled Tyrannulet occupies humid motane forest and forest borders, more open woods, and even clearings with scattered trees (Hilty and Brown 1986, Hilty 2003).
