Sounds and Vocal Behavior
Vocalizations
A constant "seep" note is interpreted as a contact call while moving in a flock (Lowery and Tallman 1976, Isler and Isler 1987). Fjeldså and Krabbe (1990) characterize the contact call as a high-pitched "zee". Schulenberg et al. (2007) refer to high-pitched warbled phrases as a possible song, as well as "tsip" and "ti" call notes. Also reported is a soft "chip" note (Lowery and Tallman 1976, Isler and Isler 1987). There is one recording at the Macaulay Library (ML 26982) and one at xeno-canto (XC6202).
