Behavior

Introduction

Little known. Usually seen on the ground or in forest understory, which presumably is where it forages (Payne 2005).

Hilty (2003) describes an odd appearance in flight: "Often flies with curious high-winged, almost butterflylike motion, with slow mechanical wing beats (wings seem almost to touch above back and are held there momentarily) and spread tail."
