Puna Tinamou is a poorly known species of tinamou. It lives in an inhospitable habitat, in very high elevation, and so is difficult to study. Most aspects of its life history are unknown, with very little information even on its diet and reproductive biology. There is essentially nothing known on topics such as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, population regulation, molts, territoriality and population density, and sexual behavior. Further research also is warranted to quantify population trends for Puna Tinamou.
