Conservation
Conservation Status
Pygmy Nightjar has a relatively large geographic range, and the population trend is believed to be stable throughout its range; consequently its IUCN Red List conservation status is evaluated as Least Concern (BirdLife International 2014).
Effects of human activity on populations
Although Pygmy Nightjar is widely distributed, habitats in northeastern Brazil are vulnerable to the expansion of agriculture, grazing, and burning, and these threats have increased in recent decades with an influx of immigrants to the region (BirdLife International 2014).
