Distribution
Distribution in the Americas
Pygmy Nightjar is endemic to Brazil. It is relatively widely distributed in northeastern Brazil, with apparently local disjunct populations in eastern Minais Gerais and Espírito Santo.

Endemic to the Americas.
Habitat
Blackish Nightjar occurs in arid scrub and deciduous forest, but is particularly associated with open gravelly and stony sites (especially in the caatinga region) and with rocky outcrops (in the Atlantic Forest region) (Ingels et al. 2014).
