Vocalizations
The song of Pygmy Nightjar is "a short single-noted, whistle, wheeo or wheo, and is often preceded by a rapid series of 3-4 wha notes, e.g. wha wha wah wheeo" (Cleere 1998).

The wha call sometimes also is given in flight (Cleere 1998). The alarm call is described "liquid prrip notes" (Cleere 1998).
