Behavior
Introduction
Forages primarily in the midstory and canopy (Hilty and Brown 1986). Searches for arthropods in dead curled leaves (Slud 1964, Hilty and Brown 1986, Stiles and Skutch 1989); sometimes hold dead leaves in a foot and bites them, to flush out concealed arthropods (Stiles and Skutch 1989). Also gleans insects from foliage and from moss on branches (Stiles and Skutch 1989).

Sexual Behavior
Very little information. Presumed to be socially monogamous. The male courtship feeds fruits and berries to the female (Short and Horne 2001).
Social and interspecific behavior
Usually solitary or in pairs; also often associates with mixed-species flocks (Hilty and Brown 1986, Stiles and Skutch 1989).
