Priorities for Future Research

Introduction

Rufous-bellied Nighthawk is widely distributed, but is nocturnal and occurs at low densities, and so most aspects of its natural history are very poorly known. There is no substantive information on its diet or reproductive biology. Also valuable would be data on such topics as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, population regulation, molts, territoriality and population density, as well as a better understanding of long term population trends
